Welcome to the Orangevale Ram Lacrosse Website

Welcome to the RAM Lacrosse 2012 season. Orangevale RAM LACROSSE Club (ORLC) has been formed at the request of the RAM LACROSSE CLUB at Casa Roble High School. It is the goal of the Ram Lacrosse Club to promote the sport of Lacrosse in the Sacramento region. In keeping with this goal, ORLC registration is open to all high school students from any area high schools that do not currently have a competing lacrosse program. Membership in RAM LACROSSE CLUB is required for all participants. All athletes will be required to provide ORLC with proof of membership with US Lacrosse for insurance purposes prior to the start of practices. Membership must be valid for the duration of the entire 2012 season (January 1 through June 30) in order to participate. If players are not current members, please register for high school player membership at www.uslacrosse.org prior to January 1, 2012. Existing members may also need to update their status (youth membership will not be accepted).

Practices will begin the first week of January at a location to be announced. Expect practices to begin as early as 3:30pm Mon-Fri and some Saturdays at 10:30am. An average practice will run for 1 ½ to 2 hours although the head coach will always hold final say over when practice is ended and may change start times as needed. Players and parents will be required to read, review and complete the following agreements/contracts at the time of registration: Player Registration Form, Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement, Parent/Player Expectations, Permission for Medical Treatment and Parent Volunteer Contract. In addition, ORLC suggests that all players obtain a medical clearance or sports physical prior to beginning the season. Registration forms can be found on the Forms page.

Membership Fees: Fees for the 2012 Lacrosse season are:Boys: $295 per player; Girls: $275 per player. Player fees cover most of the team expenses, including field rentals, referee fees, field equipment, uniforms and club administrative costs. Since many of our expenses are incurred prior to the start of the season, $50.00 of the membership fee will be non-refundable. All registrations received prior to January 1, 2012 will be granted a $50 discount. If a player is injured or must withdraw from the team prior to February 15, 2012, Membership fee refunds (less $50 non-refundable administrative fee) will be made available. Refund requests must be received in writing (or by e-mail) by the club administrator before February 16, 2012 in order to be considered. No refunds will be granted after this date. Equipment: All players must provide their own equipment: Boys: helmet, gloves, stick, shoulder pads, arm pads, cup, cleats and mouthpiece. Girls: stick, eye-protection, cleats and mouthpiece.

Equipment is available from numerous retail operations including Lacrosse Fanatic in Roseville or Sacramento and Sling It Lacrosse in the Bay Area as well as other online retailers. It is our suggestion that players try on or test equipment before purchasing unless you know exactly what equipment you would like to buy. Helmets must be of the same color for the entire team. We are currently using Cascade helmets with a Navy shell, visor and chin. All players should try on a helmet to ensure proper fit prior to purchasing.
